Braveheart is the story about William Wallace, a rebel leader of Scotland, who fought against England in XII century. The movie shows realistically the life of people that lived in this age.
The story starts with a Wallace as boy in the Highlands of Scotland. His father and brother died during an Edward Longshanks campaign. He leaves Scotland, and journeys to France and Italy. Many years after, he comes back to Scotland.
When he comes back, he fall in love and get married. But his wife is killed. Then, he starts a little insurgency. The movement goes growing and soon is general insurgency against English power. He allied with others Scotland clans and together defeat English army in Stirling.
But then, the English king arrived to Scotland and wins the Falkirk battle. Wallace is captured and dies, before had been tortured.
The movie has a lot of difference with history. For example, Wallace was a young nobleman, not a commoner as the movie shows him.
The movie has one of the best soundtracks in Hollywood films. It was composed by James Horner.
