One of the areas that I believe is one of the most interesting neighborhood of Santiago is Bio Bio. This is located in the southern of Santiago Centro.
In it you can find all kind of things. In the past, this is a free market where people had their things to sell and put them on the street for people to see. Today, there are a lot of trade established in that neighborhood.
You can find everything, from a clock's screw to electrical equipment of last generation. You could say it is like a mall, but for poor people.
Since childhood I've gone to this neighborhood, many times only to look at what people sell, but now when I go there, I try to buy something for my home. I cannot return with my hands empty.
